I believe that change is possible for anyone, especially for those seeking treatment. It is a strength to ask for help. And I believe that before entering treatment, clients are doing the best they can but, for lack of resources, find themselves missing out.
A critical starting point in treatment is to listen, carefully, to a client’s story - what the client identifies as pressing concerns and what they hope to get out of treatment. From there, we begin the journey. My aim is to partner with clients to enhance internal and external resources. My role is to guide and support them on the road to change. In this process, I draw from broad experience and training, diagnostic skills honed by longstanding work with individuals struggling with a wide range of emotional difficulties. The process develops a clear plan and a clear destination.
Beyond my graduate school training in clinical social work, I have received extensive training in proven effective treatment methods for mood disorders and substance use. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based treatment practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), relapse prevention, motivational enhancement, a unified protocol for transdiagnostic treatment of emotional disorders (UP). My commitment to expanding my knowledge base leads me to examine the latest research for improved methods of treatment on an ongoing basis.
I am a therapist at Octave, a behavioral health practice creating a new standard for mental health care that’s both high-quality and accessible. To learn more about my availability, please reach out to our Client Experience team by emailing or calling.
