Hello, I'm Nnenna. My approach to mental health care is centered on achieving lifelong well-being. I believe this can be accomplished by learning to manage emotions effectively, navigate stressful situations, communicate clearly, and build and maintain meaningful relationships. My favorite therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing. I am a strong advocate for cultural competence and trauma-informed care, ensuring that each client feels understood and supported in their unique experiences.
I hold an MA and am a Licensed Addiction Counselor as well as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. My areas of specialization include grief and bereavement, LGBTQIA+ support, multicultural and diversity issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), intimate and romantic relationships, spirituality, stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I am committed to providing a safe and welcoming space for all my clients, where we can work together to navigate life's challenges.
In our sessions, you can expect a collaborative and empathetic environment where your voice is heard and valued. I aim to model healthy boundaries and self-care practices, which I believe are essential for mental clarity and being fully present for my clients. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy creating psychoeducational content, dancing, learning new ways to improve both personally and professionally, and traveling. These activities help me stay grounded and bring a well-rounded perspective to my practice.
I look forward to the possibility of working with you and supporting you on your journey. If we both feel that we are a good match, I am excited to help you achieve your mental health goals.
