Something isn’t working. Sometimes, nothing is working. Even daily reminders that help is needed engenders worry that acknowledging problems will make them more real. We may wonder if it’s best to accept fleeting comfort from the ways we’re used to. Cold comfort feels better than no comfort.
But if you’re reading this, a part of you suspects that just because it feels that way doesn’t mean it has to be that way. Life is hard, change is harder, but ignoring the call toward change is the hardest.
We haven’t met yet. No one can guarantee what will exactly happen in therapy, but I know something is going to happen, and when it does, I will be with you.
Past relationship experiences lie at the heart of our suffering. A therapy relationship that accommodates the full range of experiences we had to learn to manage alone can be transformational. I believe anyone in therapy who persists in the effort to say everything can arrive at lasting insights into how to use their patterns rather than be used by them.
I have 12 years of clinical experience, have spoken at major psychology conferences internationally, am a past professor of psychology, and the author of a forthcoming book. You can read about my work at www.pauljletendre.com.
I offer a reduced-fee 45-minute consultation so we can feel out if it’s a good fit to do some work. Email me now with some days and times you are available.
