People I work with sometimes use "anxiety," "depression," or "trauma" to describe their lives. But often, words like heartache, worry, or dread seem to more fully capture their experience. Some feel under tremendous pressure, deeply isolated, resentful, or chronically misunderstood. Others - empty and drained, like they had lost or given up on something important. Many have been frustrated or confused, asking themselves, "why do I keep doing this?" or "how did I end up here again?" And some folks don't notice much overt distress at all, outside of a vague sense that "something's not right" or feeling distracted and restless.

With empathy, care, humility, and respect, I partner with people to build links between their relationships, their culture(s), their identities, the social world, and inner experience in order to promote more vitality, flexibility, resilience, and effectiveness in the world. Students I have worked with in the past have found that their early adulthood was a particularly generative time for this kind of exploration.

Many people have deeply mixed feelings about starting therapy and finding the right fit is so important for meaningful and long-lasting changes. If this profile has resonated with you in some way, there are no fees or commitments for the initial consultation. I have immediate openings, so if you'd like to meet and learn more, please reach out today.
