Yue (Brian) Shi
Hello! My name is Yue (Brian) Shi, Ph.D. and I am a Licensed Psychologist providing tele-psychotherapy to residents of California, USA.
In my work with clients, I strive to create a respectful and authentic space for each client to express personal concerns freely. My approach to therapy is integrative – I flexibly utilize therapeutic interventions based on what my clients hope to achieve through therapy. I incorporate cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, interpersonal, solution-focused, acceptance and commitment, person-centered, and strength-based interventions into my practice. Past clients have described me as an insightful, caring, and practical provider who always has their best interest in mind.
I am a first-generation immigrant from China who grew up in the Bay Area. I have worked in various clinical settings, including university and community college counseling centers, community mental health agencies, and a residential substance abuse treatment facility.
I specialize treatment in the following areas: Identity development, self-esteem, immigrant and minority mental health, college mental health, adjustment, workplace distress, career indecision, relationships and communication, trauma, depression, anxiety, gaming-specific concerns, and gaming addiction.
