Therapists for college students near Atlanta, GA
I am an avid believer in counseling for everyone. I first went to counseling when I was in college and it was during that time that I realized the importance and impact it had in my own life. I believe in the connection between physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health and investing in the connection between all four. My heart as a counselor is to create a safe and caring environment for my clients where they feel accepted and can begin healing. In creating that environment, I hope to build a relationship where my clients feel supported and that we collaborate in their healing journey. I believe that the experiences and relationships in childhood and adolescence have a profound impact on our lives as adults including our thoughts, emotions, values, identity, and worldview. As a Christian I believe in the inherent worth of each individual and believe that faith aids in healing. However I also understand and respect each individual's spiritual and faith identity and will honor where you are on your journey. I also recognize the pain that faith and religion can cause in an individual's life and have a desire to work with those struggling with the faith community.

I also enjoy helping clients negotiate relationship boundaries (with family or others), and navigate stressors related to harmful laws. I belong to a well established practice in the local area with 10 fully licensed clinicians. All major insurances are accepted and there is a negotiable sliding scale for self pay clients. Our office is located right next to Perimeter Mall off of Ashford-Dunwoody Road. I myself have several years of experience working with dual diagnosis clients in methadone clinics and with a wide variety of clients in private practices. I have also worked as an Adjunct Professor and have much experience working with college age clients. I was the friendly, approachable assistant type of professor whom everyone came to with their problems. I have been an overseas student and know first hand how difficult various challenges for college age people can be. At times I have been too shy to go to the cafeteria. At other times I have abused drugs. I have had friends who were sexually abused on campus. In sum, just about everything that can go wrong in school I have experienced. In addition to his personal experience, I have professional expertise with addiction, sexual abuse, identity issues, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. If you are looking for a compassionate, professional clinician with personal experience of your own issues, please give me a call.

I specialize in working with girls, women, and gender-expansive individuals navigating eating disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. Many of my clients are highly self-aware and emotionally sensitive, yet feel overwhelmed by the weight of expectations, inner criticism, or the pressure to keep functioning while struggling beneath the surface. If you're a young adult or adult, you may be in a season of transition, burnout, or disconnection. You might be questioning your worth, your direction, or your relationship with your body and mind. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening internally, and begin to move forward with clarity and self-compassion. My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in compassion, curiosity, and connection. My style of therapy meets you where you are, honoring your lived experience while gently guiding you toward deeper healing.
Hello. I imagine you work hard and appear to have it together, but inside anxiety is churning. Thoughts race and your inner critic is loud and getting louder by the day. A good night’s sleep? What’s that? I’m here to help. It’s possible to live with more joy, passion, and purpose.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood. I specialize in working with eating disorders of all kinds—from anorexia to ARFID and everything in between. Alongside this, I also support individuals navigating anxiety, perfectionism, and OCD. Together, we’ll work to gently untangle these challenges with curiosity, compassion, and care. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), in which I hold a Level 2 certification through Behavioral Tech. These tools can help with emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and building a more balanced, meaningful life. At the heart of my work is the belief that healing is possible. You don’t have to go through it alone. Whether you’re seeking relief from anxiety, freedom from rigid patterns, or a healthier relationship with food and yourself, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in this process.

Having studied in Quebec, Canada and having taught English in France reinforced my devotion for expanding perspectives and developing insight. I eventually decided to apply my passion for introspection and self-exploration to help those who need a guiding hand through life's trials and travails. Upon returning to the US, I enrolled in the University of North Georgia's counseling program. I interned in a community counseling setting in North Georgia as well as in a college counseling setting at Kennesaw State University. These experiences continued to inspire me to help those in most need of sensitive care, such as the LGBTQ+ community. Insight and introspection can be lifesavers when we feel as though we’ve lost our way. Learning new ways of handling and adapting to all of life’s changes can be revitalizing. We can grow through obtaining new perspective. I would be excited to be there with you on your path as a co-journeyer and as a provider of objective, researched-based counseling.
