I work with anxiety and or depression triggered by single event trauma or complex trauma over time- trauma being any distressing situation where we feel helpless and powerless- These effects can create enduring shadows that stretch across our lives. Disconnected from ourselves and others, and detached from those we want to attach, we begin to think we are that disconnection itself, and it is too painful to be with ourselves or feel our feelings. We end up living in an unbalanced, reactive state of anxiety-or stuck in a freeze state of depression or shut-down. Wounding causes us to live from a defended and limited place of grief and anxieties, seeking any way to avoid and relieve pain. Therapy is the reparative process of healing in relationship and again living from our true authentic self with adaptability, resilience, and creativity. We work together to rebalance the nervous system, increase your ability to be embodied and be in relationship, and experience more completeness, joy, and connection. Work with me to regain your sense of self and feelings of connectedness and empowerment.
My passion centers around guiding clients throughout the journey of life while assisting them in the cultivation of their dreams, ambitions, and goals. My approach to treatment begins through a compassionate lens of “person-in-environment”, the idea that an individual, couple, or family cannot be understood fully without respect for the various aspects of their social, familial, temporal, spiritual, economic, and physical environments. I enjoy working with a variety of populations: late-adolescents, young adults & adults, LGBTQ+, and executive professionals dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, grief & loss, trauma, and life-transitional issues. I also embrace working with men’s issues, high-achievers/perfectionists, and healthcare providers. As an African-American therapist I hold a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life and empowering people of African ancestry through advocacy, human services delivery, and research. In both my personal and professional life, I am cultivating a mindfulness practice. Practicing mindfulness has allowed me to intimately connect with the present moment thereby enhancing my relationship between mind-body, with loved ones, and with nature. I find incorporating mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral interventions including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based CBT (M-CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to enhance the therapeutic process by cultivating non-judgemental awareness, compassion, and purpose. I apply these principles to the therapeutic relationship by cultivating a warm, non-judgmental environment, allowing clients to feel safe in connecting with the most intimate parts of themselves so that they may begin the healing process. My therapeutic philosophy incorporates trauma-informed approaches to therapy. Often times out of necessity, survivors of trauma need to disconnect from themselves (mind & body) to survive the most difficult and horrific experiences of their lives. Using this lens, my hope is to assist clients in healing the fractures of trauma by re-establishing the connection between their minds and bodies. In my personal life I am a husband, brother, and devoted dog-parent to my, pitbull-boxer mix, Maple. Georgia has been my home for over 16 years now but I still consider myself a native Chicagoan. During my spare time, hobbies I enjoy include: coaching & playing lacrosse, video games, weightlifting, and caring for my Bonsai tree collection. I offer a limited amount of reduced fee appointments to clients who cannot comfortably afford to pay the full fee for services. Isom E. White, LCSW is seeing clients in our Smyrna / Vinings location.
Hello and welcome! Life can feel like a lot sometimes. You might be feeling overwhelmed by academic pressure, anxiety or depression, questioning your path, navigating complicated relationships, or trying to hold it all together while everyone else seems to be thriving. College and student life can bring growth and independence, but also burnout, impostor syndrome, loneliness, and identity questions. You don’t have to navigate it alone. I specialize in working with students experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and family or relationship challenges. Many of the clients I work with are untangling complex family dynamics, healing from past experiences, or learning how to set boundaries while honoring their cultural or personal values. I also support neurodiverse clients, including those with ADHD and executive functioning challenges, and understand the stress that can come from masking or feeling misunderstood in academic spaces. My approach blends cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapy, meaning we’ll look at both present patterns and deeper roots. Together, we’ll build insight, strengthen coping skills, and help you develop a more supportive and realistic inner voice. Therapy with me is collaborative — we’ll reflect, challenge patterns, and even laugh when it fits. I am committed to providing affirming, culturally responsive care for diverse clients, including BIPOC, neurodiverse, and LGBTQ+ individuals. If you’re exploring identity, belonging, or navigating systems that weren’t built with you in mind, that work is welcome here. I aim to create a space where you can show up as you are — warm, supportive, and real (not drive-thru mental health care). I am currently an Associate Professional Counselor (APC), working toward full licensure under the guidance of Lauren Vaughan-D'Angelo, LPC, CPCS. I provide virtual therapy for clients across Georgia, with evening and weekend availability. My standard rate is $125, and I accept select insurance plans as well as self-pay. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to help keep therapy accessible and within reach. If you’re wondering whether we’re a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute phone “vibe check.”

Hello! Let's be honest...seeking therapy can be an uncertain and anxiety-filled process whether you have never worked with a counselor before or have had multiple bad experiences leaving you feeling guarded and hopeless. Each client has different needs and you deserve counseling that is tailored specifically to you. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia. I currently hold an Educational Specialist’s Degree (Ed.S.) in Counselor Education and a Master’s Degree (M.S.) in Clinical Psychology. I have extensive experience working in the counseling field for over 10 years where I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults receiving services for behavioral mental health and substance abuse in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, and semi independent residential treatment facilities. Specifically, I have worked with clients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, attention-deficit hyperactivity, and psychotic disorders as well as those struggling with behavioral and emotional distress, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, sleep difficulties, and more. I particularly enjoy working with students and faculty to help them thrive during transitions. Because therapy is not a one-size-fits-all solution, I use an integrative approach and pull from various theoretical orientations (person-centered, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal process) to ensure your treatment is individualized and collaborative. Regardless of the intervention or techniques used, I practice from the fundamental belief that most often people are good and are trying to do their best given their current situation, but may make bad decisions. We are all human and imperfect… and worthy of love and compassion. This includes you. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, and the average cost of a session for clients who use their insurance is less than $30.
As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, it’s my goal to advocate for patients who struggle to be heard or respected, and to manage their treatment with compassion, understanding, and attention to holistic care. Nursing is all about the relationship you establish with your patients, and understanding them from their perspective. I believe mental health care should be a collaborative effort between the individual and their provider, with the ultimate goal of achieving total body wellness.
At Modern Path, we utilize evidence and strength approaches with a focus on individualized care. Each of us has specialties that reflect the unique needs of gender, sexuality, and relationship structure minorities.

Everyone has an idea of what working with a therapist is like. I encourage my clients to enter our therapeutic relationship with an open mind. I want each of my clients to feel comfortable being themselves in our sessions. I emphasize to each of my clients that, while I may be direct, I am not rude, and I treat each of my clients with dignity and respect. While I ask that respect be reciprocated, I want to be clear that I am not easily offended and encourage clients to express themselves in the manner that feels most comfortable to them. I utilize a person-centered approach when working with new clients in an effort to increase their levels of comfort with me and with being in the therapy session. I pride myself on my ability to provide quality and competent therapeutic services in an inviting and relatable manner. I know that seeking mental health treatment for yourself or a loved one can be a harrowing process. I want to commend you for taking the first step in improving your mental wellness. I’m Jennifer and I’m excited you found my page. I love working with young adults to find their passion in life, remove blocks that are keeping them from being their true authentic selves, and learn to live a life they have always dreamed of. I practice therapy in Midtown, however, due to Covid, I currently am only offering therapy online. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified in Clinical Anxiety Treatment, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I have 18 years of diverse experience as a School Social Worker in K-12, an Academic Coach in Higher Ed, and as a Therapist in my own Private Practice. I absolutely love what I do. I’ve worked with young adults starting college or somewhere within their college career seeking to achieve academic success, but suffering from anxiety, overwhelm, and perfectionism. I totally understand, college was supposed to be the best time of your life….but it got really challenging. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed with the pressures of living on your own, academic pressures, loneliness, or just feel weighed down by the feelings of anxiety...come talk to me. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties and build a healthy work-life-school-balance. I utilize a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, stress management, increasing self-worth, incorporation of meditation, mind/body connection, holistic healing, mood management, anxiety reduction, and self-empowerment. I believe in the power of the mind, body, and soul. I love being outdoors on mother earth and meditating daily. I am a vegetarian and love eating foods that nourish and heal my body from the inside out. Nobody ever said therapy was easy, however, I am a firm believer in “relationships”, so the connection with the right therapist is important. Call me!! Let's see if we are a great fit. You deserve to be happy and I would love to be a part of your journey!!
It can be really overwhelming searching for the right therapist, especially with the amount of help available. It may even add to the stress, anxiety, and indecision you’re already feeling. You may have an idea of what you’re coping with or may be unsure. Perhaps you have had some experience in therapy or this is your first time - maybe you feel you’ve tried everything and still no relief. No matter where you are in your mental health journey, I hope to provide you with your own unique treatment experience. I am a licensed clinical psychologist based out of Evolve Counseling and Wellness and I specialize in helping people to get relief from OCD, anxiety, phobias, negative body image, disordered eating, and trauma. I use evidence-based practices that have been shown to be effective, while remaining sensitive to the impact of the world we live in on each client's presenting concerns, identity, and individual situation. I tailor interventions to help you to get unstuck, get in touch with your resilient self, and be able to live the life you want to live. I also incorporate context, choice, collaboration, and connection in the therapy space. I believe your trust must be earned, and I work to build a supportive, warm, and transparent environment that promotes growth, autonomy, and exploration. It takes effort and vulnerability to feel better and I am here to support you as you navigate towards improved health.
My practice focuses on helping clients address concerns related to anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, and relationship concerns (i.e. communication issues, lack of trust, recent break-up, etc.). As a therapist, I am down to earth and relatable. I value taking a directive approach in effort to getting to the root of the issue while helping you identify and implement effective coping strategies to help you live a more fulfilling life.
