Not All Who Wonder Are Lost! I am a therapist who is as kind as I am challenging. Join me as an enthusiastic explorer of life! Be open to change and renewed dedication to yourself! My past clients have ranged from international musicians, photographers, gymnasts, dancers, theater directors, actors to college students, teenagers and parents. The clients I see most often have problems with stress, anxiety, depression, and managing big transitions in life.
Life is like a box of mahjong—you never know what you will draw next, but it is always better to have someone by your side to navigate life's possibilities and challenges. I enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and take a humanistic approach to my practice, honoring each person's unique story and strengths. If you are facing life transitions, anxiety, or stress, I am here to support you with care and understanding. Whether you are navigating the complexities of aging, caregiving, cultural identity, or adjusting to life as an immigrant, I offer culturally sensitive support tailored to your experiences. Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space for you to share your journey. You might feel overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure of what lies ahead, but I believe in your resilience and potential for growth. Together, we can explore ways to manage challenges, foster meaningful connections, and create a more balanced, fulfilling life. You do not have to face these transitions alone—I am here to walk with you every step of the way.
I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. What often brings us to therapy are life events that we did not sign up for or want to face. Unanticipated endings, dealing with uncertainties and fear can bring us to crossroads. These intersections present an opportunity for our hearts to grow and for our lives to align with our true north. My primary work has been in medical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and community health. I believe that when working with individuals, the human connection is the core of what makes therapy meaningful and effective. If you are dealing with old patterns, a new health diagnosis, or experiencing significant loss or relationship issues, my practice might be a good fit. I welcome you to give me a call to discuss further whether I can be a good fit for your needs.
I offer a non-judgmental, caring, and collaborative approach to therapy. My style is both relationship-driven and informed by evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based therapies. I am also a registered yoga teacher, and I may integrate breathing and relaxation exercises into sessions if that matches with a client's interests and needs. (And if not, that's fine, too!) I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and provide affirming care. I have extensive experience helping people with eating disorders, as well as many other mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and adjustment issues. I completed my post-graduate fellowship in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Children's Hospital Boston, where I was a member of the Eating Disorders Team, and I worked worked as a clinician in Student Mental Health & Counseling at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where I was also on the Eating Concerns Team. I offer in-person sessions in Wellesley Hills on Tuesdays and Thursdays and virtual sessions Monday-Friday. If you are interested in scheduling a session outside of the times listed on my schedule, please reach out, and I'll let you know if I'm able to accommodate the request.

I work with teens, college students, and young adults hoping to better manage life's difficulties and troubles with emotion regulation, unhelpful thoughts, and problematic relationships. Ultimately, I believe that people in treatment want to change and feel more fulfilled at school or work, in relationships, and with their sense of personal growth. Psychodynamic psychotherapy emphasizes that we will work on these issues together within a safe and supportive relationship. We can collaborate on your goals as we explore new perspectives, new meanings, and new ways of thinking about and coping with your overwhelming life stress. As a psychiatrist, I also prescribe medication when appropriate. I invite you to reach out and see if we would be a good fit for starting this work.
Anna works with children, adolescents, and young adults with a variety of presenting problems and concerns. She believes in the power of interventions early in life to help children and teens develop healthy boundaries and coping skills, and to have healthier and happier relationships with themself and others. Anna utilizes a humanistic, person-centered approach in her sessions by creating an authentic relationship with her clients and providing acceptance, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. She has completed Behavioral Tech’s Foundational DBT Training, and is tailoring and implementing evidence-based interventions through her clients’ interests and needs. Anna earned her master’s degree in professional mental health counseling from Lesley University in 2023. As a Lesley University alumnus, Anna’s core belief for her practice is the centrality of the self as an instrument of change. Prior to joining Birch Hill, Anna worked with Children’s Services of Roxbury as an Outpatient Clinician providing individual counseling to children and adolescents
I am a psychotherapist with 10+ years of experience providing individual therapy for adults and adolescents. I have training in most major therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, SFBT, trauma-informed treatment, etc.) and my clinical focus is on in-depth psychoanalytic therapy. People come to work with me when there is a problem—a symptom, a conflict, a traumatic experience—that interferes with their satisfaction in life. Common issues include anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and difficulty with love and sexuality. Psychoanalytic work aims at addressing the real causes of these problems, and can result in new ways of relating to yourself. Therapy begins with an invitation to speak freely. It is a unique opportunity to hear what our struggles are trying to say. The challenge of therapy is that there are no ready-made answers, but I find that with the right therapeutic environment, everyone can figure out what to do with their obstacles on their path. I look forward to speaking with you about working together. Feel free to get in touch by email or schedule a consultation on my helloalma.com profile. I am currently accepting new patients for telehealth and in-person sessions at my office in Brookline, and can provide services in both English and Mandarin. 我會使用中文進行心理治療, 歡迎與我聯繫!

I believe that all therapy starts by building a detailed understanding of each person in the context of a developing therapeutic relationship. I will work with you collaboratively to develop a plan for your success based on your specific goals. Often, this plan includes enhancing knowledge, increasing self-awareness, and learning new skills. I offer an integration of therapeutic approaches, including relational (focusing on interpersonal interactions), mindfulness (emphasizing awareness and attention to one's experience), and cognitive-behavioral techniques (focusing on the impact of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors). I work to help individuals managing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relational stressors. In addition, I have specialized training & experience in helping people heal from trauma. I have training and experience working with couples looking to improve connection and overcome difficulties in healthier manners.
I specialize in working with people presenting with mood and anxiety disorders seeking symptom reduction and healthy coping skills and also insight into their mental health challenges.I also work with people of all ages on the Autism Spectrum as well as their families. My overall approach is to set goals to improve daily life while simultaneously working on context and background that may be contributing to today's challenges. People benefit from all different kinds of therapy models. I often get feedback that my approach is more directive and actively engaged than other providers. I use psychotherapy and medications to help people with stress-related conditions. I am interested in not only alleviating symptoms but helping my clients understand the underlying causes that bring them into treatment. If we are able to connect in a way that you feel understood and I can see the world as if in your shoes, then progress has begun. As a prescriber, I try to consider all the concerns expressed by my clients and come up with a plan that feels safe and right. I provide a detailed assessment and really try to include my clients in the decision-making process. As a therapist, I try to create a safe place for my clients to explore their thoughts and express their feelings. I am interested in seeing and understanding the world and especially relationships from my client's point of view. As a relational therapist, I try to help my client communicate more effectively and participate more deeply in relationships. I am trained in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapies and work relationally with clients. I am also trained in mentalization-based (MBT), transference-focused (TFP), accelerated dynamic experiential psychotherapy (AEDP), and intensive short term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTP). Patients must be in therapy to be seen by me, either with an outside therapist or internally. Any new patient requests must use "scheduling@thoughtfulpsychiatry.com" for outreach.
Guiding You to Understand the Foundation of Your Life Like physical health and fitness, each human being is living at a level of mental health and fitness. The level of mental health a person is able to live in regardless demographics including age is unlimited. The greater the level of mental health cultivated inside, the more natural it is to experience resilience, presence, connection, clarity, love, peace, respect, trust, inside regardless the live event. Nature designed our operating system inside: "We are built to heal, love, respect, connect, resolve, be prosperous in right ways, optimal ways...when we cultivate next levels of mental health...self-awareness...psychological fitness inside." Cultivating greater levels of mental health inside becomes choosing, understanding, responding from, for example, innate wisdom in live time, an ultimate, yet essential psychological capability inside. It has often been dismissed, ignored or dormant due to a lower level of psychological awareness inside: that it exists inside, what it is, how to access it and why to access it. It is also upgrading essential awareness inside with navigating: relationships, biological health challenges, sudden unexpected and expected life transitions such as death of a loved one, divorce or marriage, moods, finances and career challenges. Finally, it is healing the source of trauma inside and upgrading awareness with work performance, academic performance, mistakes and set-backs. I also have a great deal of knowledge about the Mind-Body connection pertaining to mental health based on leading-edge facts. Currently, mental health services are provided through Telehealth. When participating in Telehealth services, please have a physical space which allows for privacy consistently throughout an appointment. Please visit mindthoughtconsciousness.com. Read pages, watch videos and listen to your gut to discern whether this counseling approach is the right approach for your mental health counseling. Wishing you the best with completing next steps to cultivate and experience greater levels of mental health inside.

I have received training in motivational interviewing, solutions focused therapy, trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, descriptive psychology-informed psychotherapy and I specialize in treating depression and other mood disorders, anxiety and panic related issues, ADHD and addictive disorders.

As a psychologist, writer and consultant, my favorite population to work with are college students and graduate students, often managing mental health issues, while navigating independence, relationships and larger life choices all at once. In fact, I recently finished writing a book, "College Mental Health 101" based on hundred of interviews and thousands of students I've worked with over the years whose voices are in the pages. Whether its adjustment to school and making career decisions, to identity or family of origin concerns, to depression, anxiety and other mental health issues, I love working with students to find ways to improve their life circumstance. I have an academic interest in mindfulness, neuroscience and communication, and teach on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and globally.
