Therapists for college students near Northeastern University
Riley Pearse
Welcome! My name is Riley, and I am a master’s-level clinician dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where you can feel heard, supported, and understood. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, I believe therapy can be a place to foster growth, resilience, and meaningful change. Through my work in a therapeutic school, I developed experience in trauma-informed care, creative interventions, collaboration across systems, and supporting children and families with diverse needs. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, identities, and backgrounds, and I strive to create an affirming, culturally responsive environment where each person’s experiences and intersecting identities are respected. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotion regulation challenges, and I have experience providing neurodiversity-affirming care for ASD and ADHD clients. My approach is strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed. Because therapy is never one-size-fits-all, I tailor treatment to each individual’s goals by drawing from relational-cultural therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)-informed interventions, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches. I value authenticity, curiosity, humor, and creativity, and I aim to make therapy feel approachable, collaborative, and empowering as we work together toward the life you want to build.

Sara Lucas
Hi, I’m Sara (she/her). My approach to therapy is warm, honest, curious, non-judgmental, and above all, relational. My primary focus is on co-creating an authentic therapeutic relationship where you experience the safety, empathy, and trust which make room for experimenting with new ways of thinking and being. I believe there is no one “right” way to engage in therapy, just as there is no one “right” way to live a life. Sometimes we need to deeply understand (and mourn) the past, sometimes we need practical tools for navigating a challenging present, and sometimes we simply need space to be witnessed without having to hold it all together. I am interested in working with clients across the lifespan and with a variety of presenting concerns. Our work might range from open-ended “talk therapy” to more structured interventions depending on what works best for you. You certainly don’t need to come in knowing exactly what you need out of therapy, either: we can figure it all out together! My work is integrative, drawing from a variety of theoretical orientations including trauma- and complex trauma-informed, attachment-informed, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral. I have clinical interest and prior experience in working with complex trauma survivors as well as with adult women with lived experience in the commercial sex trade, including trafficking and exploitation. In addition to counseling, I am a member of the Human Trafficking Research Hub at William James College, where I contribute to research on the psychological consequences of sex trafficking. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Holistic Studies specialization from Lesley University and a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Wellesley College (Go Blue!). Whether or not we end up working together, I hope the right help finds you, and that whatever you’re holding grows lighter to carry.
Eliana Freeman, LICSW
Sometimes we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious. We might notice patterns and struggle to understand them. Together, we will work collaboratively to build skills to best meet your needs, hopes, and goals while exploring and building insight to better understand yourself. Our work will support you as you navigate different life phases, relationships, and environments. I specialize in working with individuals traversing life transitions (school, work, moving, navigating change, stress), anxiety, grief and loss, familial or relationship dynamics, and identity exploration. I have extensive training and experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community. My approach to psychotherapy is relational and psychodynamic, while utilizing other modalities such as CBT, Mindfulness techniques, techniques of Grief Therapy, and Expressive Therapies when helpful. I have an individualized and strengths-based framework, recognizing the centrality of the mind-body connection and the importance of holistic care. I work with people across the spectrums of gender, race, sexuality, age, and class. I strive to create a safe and accessible space for all identities, body types, and abilities. I offer therapy for a range of experiences including: anxiety, self-esteem, navigating life transitions, identity, family dynamics, relationships, grief and loss, and trauma.
Ashley Landrein
As a master’s candidate in Expressive Arts Therapy at Lesley University, I understand and encourage everyone’s natural capabilities of imagination, creativity, and play. In my practice, I believe in using the arts (music, visual, narrative, and more) to connect with and explore our internal world, providing an outlet for expression in handling difficult emotions, stress, interpersonal relationships, grief and other life circumstances. My approach is strength-based, culturally informed and trauma-sensitive. I offer a safe space to explore personal narratives through a judgment-free and affirmative lens, considering systemic barriers and oppressive structures that affect a person’s overall well-being. I identify as LGBQTIA+ and am mindful of the stigma and challenges faced by marginalized communities. I also have years of experience working with neurodiverse populations in individual and group settings.
Danielle Pace
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training at McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mentalization-based therapy (MBT). I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and families navigating anxiety, emotion regulation difficulties, relationship and interpersonal challenges, self-esteem concerns, and recurring patterns of coping or behavior. My approach combines evidence-based behavioral strategies with relational and insight-oriented therapy. I draw from DBT, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), MBT, and psychodynamic therapy to help clients better understand the patterns underlying their difficulties while developing practical skills to respond differently. Dr. Hunter D'Abundo
I work as a staff psychologist at CampusCare Counseling, which serves exclusively young adults. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that can promote self-acceptance, awareness of emotional experiences, and greater understanding of relational patterns. I value the use of compassion, authenticity, and humor, to help foster a safe, trusting, and collaborative environment where my clients feel encouraged to explore areas of vulnerability. To help achieve this, my practice incorporates skills building and insight development with consideration of client’s values and needs. My approach to therapy is integrative and draws from, but is not limited to, humanistic, dialectic-behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, and relational approaches.
Dr. Claudia Stuber
I work at CampusCare Counseling, offering quality mental health services to young adults. My therapeutic work takes a largely integrative approach including, but not limited to, the use of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, exposure and response prevention, and acceptance and commitment therapeutic interventions. I work through a humanistic and client-centered lens, drawing from many concepts of internal family systems therapy. I believe that at our core, we are all inherently “good,” but our unique life experiences can lead us to adopt beliefs, behaviors, and coping strategies that may be healthy at times, or harmful at others. For this reason, I believe it is essential to explore the relationships and events that shaped distressing thoughts or unwanted behaviors to facilitate meaningful change. I hold unconditional positive regard for my clients, utilizing a trauma-informed approach to help college students gain a deeper understanding of themselves and a genuine appreciation for all the parts that make them who they are. It is my belief that with self-insight and self-love present, transformation, healing, and relief are always within reach.
