Therapists for college students near Northeastern University
Are you a diamond in the rough? I provide social psychologically informed therapy that looks concentratedly at each client's various emotions in context, how and why emotions arise in relationships and what they have to tell us. I help clients look at their complex feelings related to self, break ups, loss of connection, and unresolved grief or anger, and their positive feelings. I try to help clients persist at these times to discover unrealized strengths, better connections. I work with a sense of humor, realism and practicality. I hope my clients can feel secure and increasingly present, and make smarter, more conscious choices. I am a Licensed Psychologist. My education consists of a B.A. from Brown University, an M.L.A. in Social Psychology from Harvard University, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology.

I use an eclectic therapeutic approach incorporating various evidence based modalities in client centered, and culturally responsive way to facilitate the processing of traumatic memories, develop effective coping strategies to confront activating reminders of trauma, and ultimately support you as you rebuild relationships and pursue new opportunities. To help someone heal from trauma is a radical act, and I am always honored to be trusted by survivors to do this work. I believe that we are all deeply connected and that my healing and liberation is tied up with yours. I am excited to join you on your journey of growth and recovery. Please know that you are not a burden, and I am here to support you. Please reach out for a free initial consultation. We can discuss your needs. Currently, I offer licensed mental health therapy through confidential Telehealth, an alternative to in-person therapy that helps you save time, money and energy while providing opportunities for you to make progress and achieve significant milestones. I help folks get unstuck by using strategies and conserving their energy as best they can. Sometimes all the insight in the world doesn't change your life. I use various behavior therapies so we can understand how and why you tick AND come up with tangible steps towards the life you’ve always wanted. Virtual evening skills groups! I offer virtual DBT skills groups for adults including: young adults, mixed ages and all genders, women only and men only. Generally the folks I work with struggle with high sensitivity, perfectionism, and mild/moderate depression and anxiety symptoms. Most of the folks I work with use the psychoeducational group to enhance the individual healing work they are already doing. The group adds structure and accountability to practicing evidence based coping strategies to better manage moods, identify triggers, improve relationships/communication and overall stress management techniques.
You might be struggling to understand why you fall into the same damaging patterns in your relationships. Or why, no matter how much you want to, you just can't seem to let yourself be vulnerable with the people you love most. Or maybe you're facing questions about your path in life and trying to fit into a predetermined mold. I believe we shouldn't have to force ourselves to blend into one aspect of our identities. We deserve to embrace all parts of ourselves and create our own unique balance from our cultural, gender, emotional identities and more. Attachment theory, trauma informed interventions, and a personal and therapeutic perspective of multicultural identities are some of the things that allow me to support you in better understanding yourself and get answers to your biggest questions about you. All with the goal of feeling most aligned with who you truly are. Life today can fill our heads with so many complexities that we sometimes lack the capacity to figure all this out on our own. The therapeutic space we create can be dedicated to the personal challenges that have had to take a backseat. Those parts of you deserve the time.

Through my own lived experience, I can deeply resonate with the realities my Millennial and Gen Z clients face. Dating, social media, politics, finances, and demands from school or work can be so daunting. My main priority as a therapist is to create a non-judgmental, engaging, and approachable environment where you feel empowered to navigate these challenges together. Just having one of those days where you need to vent about your mom, partner, or roommate? There’s plenty of space for that too. While I pull from many approaches in my work, I especially enjoy utilizing skills-based therapies like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). These can address concerns like anxiety, stress, interpersonal conflict, sleep, and more. My goal is that you leave each and every session feeling more ready to take on what life is throwing your way. If you’re looking to gain control amidst our out-of-control world, I’d love to connect with you. Please don’t hesitate in reaching out for a free 15-minute consultation.

My clients don't come to therapy to hear someone nod and agree with everything they say. That isn't worth their time or money. They want real help.
