I work with my clients on exploring underlying patterns, unresolved conflicts, and deep-seated emotional concerns that have been causing distress in their relationships with themselves and others. With authenticity and compassion, I work collaboratively with my clients through relationship and attachment issues, depression, anxiety, self-doubt, shame, loneliness, and childhood trauma, toward greater clarity and fulfillment. I foster a thoughtful space for navigating life transitions, complex family dynamics, questions of identity and purpose, as well as overall feelings of being stuck or lost. I understand that trust takes time and care to develop. Together, we’ll cultivate a relationship in which you can come to feel safe and free to express what’s troubling you. I’ll help you make better sense of what you’ve been struggling with and why, and support you in tuning into and working toward what well-being might look and feel like for you. Talking together with honesty and curiosity can deepen your understanding of yourself and your experiences and build resilience, which both support authentic, lasting growth. As this process unfolds, it can help you make changes that foster a more integrated sense of self, greater connection in relationships, and a stronger sense of meaning in life. Education and Experience: - The Stephen Mitchell Relational Study Center: Program in Relational Studies - Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis: Fellow - Depth Counseling: Advanced Clinical Fellowship in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy - University of Chicago: AM, Clinical Social Work, psychodynamic concentration - Columbia University: BA, Psychology and English (cum laude)

I believe therapy means making you feel deeply known and accepted, and by creating a warm and secure bond opens the space for long-lasting, personal growth. I appreciate how some old habits you have picked up at an earlier point may no longer serve you now. The process of understanding yourself with compassion and learning new ways of being in the world isn't always easy, but I'll be with you every step of the way. Together we can find and solve the "stuck points" holding you back from living a full and meaningful life. I work with individual adults focusing on mood and personality issues. As your therapist, my goal is to help you live up to the best version of yourself. My approach centers on harnessing your unique strengths in building the bridge between where you are and where you want to be. I take an integrative approach that reflects my dual training in transference-based theory such as Schema and evidence-based theory such as CBT. Thus, my treatment balances the exploration of experiential life with actionable change.

I am excited that you are here and pursuing or continuing your journey with therapy. As a therapist, I passionately believe in creating space for people and their stories. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, childhood and relational trauma, identity issues, job stress, relationship issues, and life transitions. I have worked with with teenagers and adults, as well as first-generation immigrants, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ folks. As a South Asian woman who is a first generation immigrant, I value exploring with clients how their identity and culture shapes their experience. In my work with clients I utilize a trauma informed lens as well as a holistic approach, focusing on the mind body connection and how our mental health and physical health are intertwined. I utilize various modalities in my work, primarily psychodynamic but also aspects of DBT, CBT, ACT and mindfulness techniques. I am a warm, compassionate therapist who strives to create a non-judgmental, safe space where clients can explore their past, better understand themselves, navigate life challenges and work towards well-being and self acceptance. In our first session, I look forward to hearing about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our time together. I tailor my sessions to each individual and believe in working collaboratively to meet your needs.

I work collaboratively with students who face a variety of challenges, including life transitions, relationship issues, and navigating queer identities. College and graduate school typically occur at pivotal developmental points for people in terms of figuring out who they are, what they want, and separating/individuating from parental figures. Together, we will work to understand your inner life, what works and what doesn't in terms of your thinking, behavior and ways of relating to others. Often, patterns develop that help us stay safe and secure when we're young, but would benefit from re-examination and modification to live a more fulfilling adult life. I have a sub-specialty working with people with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), a highly distressing fixation on a perceived appearance defect that can impact daily functioning and quality of life. I help you understand where the appearance fixation originated, including negative self appraisals and rituals/compulsions that accompany BDD. Learning to face feared and avoided situations is a gradual process that takes place over time, freeing you from the hold of BDD and leading to improved functioning and a more satisfying life.

You might look like you have things together on the outside—but internally, you’re dealing with anxiety, overthinking, and feeling like everyone else has it figured out except you. Sound familiar? College can be a time of growth and excitement, but I know it can also feel overwhelming and isolating, too. I work with college students who are dealing with anxiety, stress, relationship drama, and that constant “what am I doing with my life?” feeling. I’m not a “sit in silence” therapist; I take an active and collaborative approach, which means I’ll ask questions, give feedback, and help you actually make sense of what’s going on (and what to do about it). I'll give you practical tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life, and together we’ll work on building confidence and setting boundaries so you can work towards feeling more like yourself and less "stuck" in patterns that aren't serving you. If you’re ready for therapy that feels real, supportive, and actually helpful, let’s connect.

College can feel exciting, but also stressful, overwhelming, and lonely at times. Many of the students I work with are balancing school, relationships, family expectations, and their own mental health. My approach is warm and supportive, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies to help you manage stress, build confidence, and feel more grounded. I believe that therapy, with a therapist who can help you feel safe, secure and seen, can restore our inherent joy, curiosity, creativity, and connectedness, which are often impaired or lost altogether as a result of trauma or past attachment wounds. I am a relational therapist and specialize in exploring patterns that come from our families of origin, relationships with ourselves, with our friends, romantic partners, and children, as well as relationships with food and substances. I tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs by incorporating modalities such as Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic psychotherapy, somatic work, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. Regardless of approach, what is transformative in therapy occurs in the relational dynamic.

“What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” -Mary Oliver I've been thinking about this every day since the first time I read it (or rather the first time it smacked me in the face, oh, so many years ago). It's some question, isn't it? Sometimes it inspires me. Sometimes it frightens me. Since it always challenges me, I've rooted my practice philosophy in it. It's kind of like the adult version of 'what do you want to be when you grow up'? How in the world do we answer that? If the question moves you like it does me then we're probably a good fit. Let's talk about the complexities of making life choices and finding fulfillment.

Hello! I am a New York State licensed Psychotherapist with over 21 years of experience. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to identify and reshape negative thoughts and unproductive behaviors or issues in a client's daily life. Many of my clients find it helpful to set goals together and break problems into small, manageable steps. I work in collaboration with my clients to achieve short-term and long-term goals. I particularly enjoy working with college and graduate students in times of transition. I am warm, genuine, positive, and engaged. In session, I will build rapport with you, make sure I’m hearing what you’re communicating, and establish a therapeutic alliance. I’ll listen to your thoughts and feelings and reflect back what I notice to highlight opportunities for growth and facilitate behavioral change. During our first session, I'll ask about your symptoms and what brought you to therapy. We may cover your history, education, relationships, career, and current living situation, and agree on your goals and objectives. If you want to make positive changes and think we might be a good fit, please reach out! I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am also committed to making therapy affordable! Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, so you're only responsible for your co-pay.

My work is primarily catered toward issues such as acute stress, interpersonal difficulties, and challenges involving mood and anxiety. While I welcome individuals of all backgrounds, I am particularly invested in working with clients with marginalized identities, acting as a welcoming ally to queer and trans identified individuals and people of color. As a therapist, I have close to a decade of experience working with a range of at-risk populations in a number of professional settings. Many of my clients arrive feeling like they move from one stressor to the next. Getting out of bed is difficult, creativity and passion fade, and scrolling on a screen replaces human contact. My practice aims at helping individuals uncover, clarify, and address substantial barriers which block pleasure and satisfaction. The work I do involves a deep exploration of historical, interpersonal, and emotional factors in conjunction with the development of practical skills aimed at fostering wellness.
