Wellness State LLC is a therapeutic practice designed with you in mind. Our practice was intentionally created to support adults transitioning into college/trade school. Approximately 40% of students each year drop out each year due to stress and lack of support. At Wellness State LLC we aim to bridge the gap. We utilize a solutions-focused approach to help students lessen anxiety and find success. We service students throughout the country and look forward to serving you.
I offer compassion, support, and information to help you get to the root of the problems that are troubling you. I work from a holistic perspective, supporting your emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual health so that you can integrate your strengths, optimize your energy and progress toward your goals. Together we can identify any barriers and problem solve, clearing them away so your future looks brighter than ever.
Hi! I am Dr. Amy and I love working with college students, whether as a professor or as a counselor. I understand the types of stress that college students have to navigate and how overwhelming it can feel. Together you and I will break things down into smaller pieces and look at your thoughts and feelings against the background of possible diagnoses. Sometimes having a name for what we are struggling with can be very helpful. I specialize in ADHD, disordered eating, substance misuse, relationship issues, and anxiety/depression. I have been teaching and working with college students for many, many years—primarily teaching attachment and developmental psychology—so psycho-education is a big part of what we will do together. Please feel free to reach out to me to see if we are a good fit.
I provide trauma-informed and strength-based psychodynamic therapy to adults seeking to understand the personal, intergenerational, and political factors impacting their mental health. I support my clients in the process of healing from past experiences so that they are able to feel their emotions more fully, develop healthier and deeper connections, and make empowered choices about their futures. I specialize in LGBTQ+ and BIPOC-affirming care, couple's therapy, and perinatal mental health. I use a relational approach to support my clients in becoming more curious about their inner lives, more in touch with their hopes and desires, and clearer about the barriers they are facing to meeting their goals. I believe therapy is about helping us to feel more emotionally resilient in the face of any obstacle. Overall, my main goal is to create a safe relationship so that you feel you have true support on your healing journey.
With more than a decade of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, I support adults 18 and older as they navigate some of life's most complex and personal challenges. My areas of expertise include ADHD, complex PTSD and trauma, attachment disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance use, grief and loss, and life transitions. For those navigating relational difficulties, I also offer couples counseling, family therapy, and group counseling to help strengthen the connections that matter most. At the heart of my work is the belief that healing begins within a safe, authentic, and supportive therapeutic relationship, one where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. Finding the right therapist is a deeply personal process, and I encourage you to trust yourself in choosing the path that feels like the best fit. I take a holistic and collaborative approach to care, one that is always tailored to your unique needs. Drawing from psychoanalytic, person-centered, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral perspectives, I integrate evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, narrative therapy, somatic work, trauma-informed care, and attachment-based interventions. For those in couples or family therapy, this foundation helps strengthen communication, deepen connection, and create lasting change in your relationships. Whatever brings you here, my goal is to help you connect with your inner guidance, develop tools for growth, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. My path to becoming a therapist is a personal one. At 18, I knew something was wrong and reached out for help, scared and unsure of what to expect. What I found changed everything. My first therapist left a lasting impression on my life, and her impact planted the seed for the work I do today. That experience shaped not only my decision to become a therapist, but the kind of therapist I strive to be: someone who meets you with the care and presence that truly makes a difference. Outside of sessions, you'll often find me lost in a good book, working on a piece of writing, or hiking with my group through whatever trail is next on the list. I never pass up a chance to get to the beach, and live music holds a special place in my heart. Above all, I cherish the time I spend with my family and friends, and being a mom is one of my greatest joys.

Hi, I'm Lisa! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice in New York and Florida. I realize how daunting it can be to reach out when you’re struggling and find a therapist you implicitly trust. My personal experience in therapy informs my work and fuels connection for those in need of emotional nourishment, fulfillment, and a new foundation of confidence. With a deep passion for eating disorder recovery advocacy, I help individuals to recover from eating disorders, self-esteem, and body image issues. I strive to create a safe space and foster a genuine, compassionate, non-judgmental relationship with my clients. Everyone’s struggle is unique, yet together we will nurture your self-compassion, food freedom, and body appreciation, so you are able to show up as your authentic self and access your full potential. By validating your perspective, I am dedicated to creating a safe, encouraging, non-judgmental environment where you can explore and express your emotions, discover proper coping mechanisms and life skills to contend with daily challenges and make empowering choices. I encourage the importance of vulnerability, authenticity, communication, self-acceptance, and positive self-talk. Throughout my own personal journey, I trusted and felt the most connection with the clinicians who were recovered themselves. I have learned to own my story and share my truth to make you feel more trusting and comfortable. Having this connection has proved invaluable. I am so grateful for my work and love being able to help others to find the same freedom that I did. Owning my story, stepping outside my comfort zone, and leaning into discomfort has helped me become the person I am today, doing what I know I was always meant to do. Recovery can be your reality when you grant yourself kindness and compassion. I aim to provide support and education to individuals and families affected by eating disorders. I create a bridge for those needing and seeking help by connecting patients with a full comprehensive out-patient team including myself, an ED-sensitive Physician, Dietician, and Psychiatrist, if need be. A triple-team approach is often essential for those in recovery, and I collaborate with some of the best ED specialists and treatment centers in NYC and Florida. I am a graduate of New York University's Applied Psychology, Masters Counseling program for Mental Health and Wellness. Additionally, I have completed my BFA in Drama from Tisch School of the Arts and engaged in the MA, Drama Education Program at New York University. I am a member of The Academy of Eating Disorders and International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Foundation. Additionally, I have actively participated in the comprehensive services of The National Alliance for Eating Disorders, Monte Nido & Affiliates, and Balance Eating Disorder Treatment Center, including various continuing education courses, trainings, clinical supervision groups, and national weekly support groups. I am licensed to practice psychotherapy and treat patients in New York, as well as patients that reside in Florida, via Telehealth.
My approach centers on building self-discovery, through the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. This internal world influences anxiety, depression, mood stability and reactivity. Therapy is where you can take the time to get to know more about yourself and ways to build helpful self-care practices. Many of my clients come to therapy struggling with persistent self-doubt, critical inner narratives, as well as the weight of expectations around identity, achievement, and emotional expression. These expectations can distort our sense of self worth, making it challenging to define and meet important self-growth goals. Together, we can work to intuitively explore what may be contributing to these challenges, current belief systems and behavioral patterns. I value a conversational approach to therapy, where you can feel open in expressing your thoughts, concerns and internal narratives in order to ultimately choose if they are still serving you or it may be time for change. How we speak to ourselves matters; it not only affects our mood but also our motivation, behavior, and ability to connect with others. When we cultivate an intentional internal dialogue that aligns with our values we can begin to unlock a greater sense of autonomy and capability. This process leads to lessened anxiety, greater self confidence and acceptance.
Gen Z and Millennial women are often bombarded with difficult life transitions such as adulting, relationship distress, quarter-life crises, career pursuits, parenting, caregiving, and more. This can be a lot to manage! Societal pressures plus the changing roles of women in this age group require a focused, feminist, and knowledgable approach. It can be tricky searching for the right therapist, so I appreciate you being here in the first place. My approach is fine-tuned, using radical genuineness, to help you learn how to manage these unique stressors while maintaining authenticity and calm. I am practiced in several targeted therapies that meet the needs of women in transition including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). In my personal experience, I have come to view change as the only constant, which is why I find great value in being able to help my clients through significant life transitions. Looking back at the clients I've served over the years, I have been able to find something about every one of them that I admire. I love meeting my clients where they are and seeing how I can support their walk through life in a genuine, non-judgmental, and meaningful way. If this sounds like the right approach for you, feel free to reach out for a phone consult.
I support young adults who feel overwhelmed with school stress and anxiety, depression, relationship stress/dating confusion, and needing support with managing emotions. In our work together, we focus on: Calming the mental overload and racing thoughts, feeling more in control during moments of anxiety or panic, breaking out of overthinking and self-doubt, set healthy boundaries in relationships while working on the guilt, and building coping tools that actually work in real life. I’ll meet you where you are while also helping you move forward in ways that feel doable. If you're looking for support and practical tools to start feeling better, I’m here to help.
I help folks ages 18+ in NY, CT, OR, and FL who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions. I am a compassionate and nonjudgmental therapist who prioritizes creating a space in which my clients feel “held,” heard, and helped. My approach is personalized, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. My practice is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and utilizes a range of techniques including awareness of sensations in the body, narrative interventions, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. I believe everyone has the capacity to heal and that meaningful transformations take place in the context of safe and supportive relationships, when we feel seen, understood, and accepted unconditionally. Together, we will process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences to reduce suffering and increase joy, fulfillment, and success. The bottom line: I meet you where you are—with patience, warmth, kindness, and insight. I will assist in identifying and strengthening your own inner resources and wisdom, so we can work more effectively with challenges and pain on the road to a more satisfying life. You don’t have to do this alone.

I like to think of therapy as a journey of inner exploration and I am along as a guide. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is a combination of intellectual understanding and emotional experience. In that regard, it feels like your feelings are our road signs that we are in the right track to self-growth. I try to not have a specific agenda going into sessions, but rather to go where it is you feel like you need to go at that time. I believe that it is my role to create a safe space for you to express and explore whatever it is that is inside you. Compassion is key, and cultivating self-compassion is one of the most important elements of therapy. I look forward to helping you explore and become more self-aware and self-compassionate!

Improving your mental well-being can be an intimidating process, but you don’t have to do it alone. Hello! I am a clinical psychologist who specializes in working with young adults, LGBTQ+ people (especially trans and non-binary), trauma, and emotional instability. My clients often come from backgrounds where they feel misunderstood and invalidated. They sometimes feel frustrated with their important relationships, or like they're stuck on an emotional roller coaster, or like they have trouble relaxing and feeling safe. In therapy, I create an accepting, non-judgmental environment where my clients can feel truly seen. From there, I help clients understand themselves, what they want to change in their lives, and how to reach their goals. I completed my training at college counseling centers and a hospital program serving college students. I know the challenges college students face, and I love helping students overcome those challenges. If you think we might be a good fit for therapy, please reach out! I offer free 15 minute consultation calls for anyone interested. I am currently offering therapy in person in Berkeley, CA on Saturdays and over Zoom Tuesday-Saturday in California, New York, and Virginia.
