If you feel unheard, disconnected, or at the end of your rope, maybe you are feeling lost after losing your faith, or are in a relationship that leaves you unseen. I offer therapy that starts with your emotions, lived experience, and focuses on compassion as a tool for healing. I utilize a trauma-informed, nature-based therapy and believe nature is a powerful tool for keeping us grounded when things in our lives feel out of control. Together we can work on helping you feel more grounded, connected, and at peace. I offer telehealth counseling across Oregon, including Portland, Salem, Eugene, Bend, and Medford. Much of my work has involved trauma and helping people make sense of what happened and how it shows up now. I listened first, reflect what I'm hearing, and then look at what emotions that brings up for you, in a warm, non-judgmental, calming space. I also offer walk-and-talk, nature-based sessions for people who feel better processing outdoors. Finding the right fit matters. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation on my website. Evening hours available.

Trauma recovery involves the process of healing both the body and mind from overwhelming experiences by reconnecting with oneself in an integrated way. It includes developing interoception—the ability to sense and interpret internal bodily cues—which helps individuals notice and respond to their emotional and physical states with greater awareness and regulation. Recovery also involves working with both implicit memories (unconscious, body-held responses like tension or startle reflexes) and explicit memories (conscious, narrative recollections of events). Through therapeutic approaches that access these memory systems, individuals begin to make sense of their experiences, reduce reactivity, and create new, safer associations, allowing for a more grounded and empowered sense of self.

I believe that a trusting relationship with you is of the utmost importance. During our time together I will work to create an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance so you feel free sharing and exploring whatever is troubling you. My approach is a trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive integration of attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, and cognitive therapy which emphasizes (1) trusting the client as an expert of their own reality, (2) exploring the patterns through which we come to understand ourselves, others, and the world, and (3) seeking meaningful emotional experiences in a safe therapeutic relationship. I will work to build a supportive, trusting, and safe relationship with you so you can bravely identify and confront the challenges you're facing. Counseling can seem like a daunting task to take on, but it also be incredibly rewarding and life-changing. If this sounds like a journey you would like to begin, then please contact me!

Many of the people wanting my support are feeling burdened by anxiety, sadness, or grief, overwhelmed by a variety of stressors, or simply worn down by internal and external elements. Sometimes these experiences lead to self-defeating/sabotaging thoughts and behaviors, feeling disconnected from oneself or others, or struggling with cycles of shame and self-doubt. Hello. I have extensive experience working with college students and the challenges they face. I worked in university counseling centers for all my career before going into private practice. My approach is primarily relational, yet integrating practical skills is integral to my philosophy of change. A therapeutic relationship is fundamental to effectively working together in therapy. Relationships with ourselves and others are the foundation of creating security and joy, for taking risks and creating success, and for becoming aligned with a set of values and ethics that bring meaning and purpose to our lives. Challenges are best met when we are in relationship and understand how to be relational across domains. I am grateful for the opportunity to join you in working towards any personal, professional, educational, or spiritual/existential goals.
