I enjoy working with people who are experiencing difficulty managing their emotions, and feel a loss of control or direction in their lives. If anger, depression, mood swings, anxiety, or past traumas are making life and your relationships with others problematic, I want to help! My approach to therapy is relaxed and down-to-earth. I will collaborate with you, in a respectful, nonjudgemental, and supportive manner. By increasing self-awareness, you will be better able to understand the barriers keeping you from happiness, and our work together will help you to develop your strengths, coping skills, and confidence.
Having a space where you feel truly seen, understood, and valued is essential. I warmly invite you into a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can explore who you are and what your needs are in order to heal and grow. I deeply believe that you are the expert of your own experience, and I use a collaborative approach to support you in exploring, understanding, and shaping your path forward. I work with clients in both an individual and relationship capacity, helping people deepen their understanding of themselves, their connections, and their emotional intimacy with others. My areas of specialization include chronic illness, LGBTQ+ folks, neurodivergence, trauma-related dissociation, and complex trauma. As a queer, trans, and neurodiverse therapist, I know how difficult it can be to take this step. I am here to support you, exactly as you are, with care and understanding. If you're interested in seeing if we are a good fit, reach out via email or phone & we can chat about how I can support you.

My clinical focus includes treating ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, panic attacks, PTSD, sleep disturbances and other mood disorders. I understand that the demands of a rigorous academic schedule require flexible care, which is why Advanced Psychiatric Solution offers convenient evening, night, and weekend virtual walk-in appointments designed to fit around your classes and exams.

Abra “Abby” McClure Kuniak holds a Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) from Chatham University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA), Greater Pittsburgh Counseling Association (GPCA) and Pennsylvania Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (PS-SAIGE). She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and geriatrics. Abby has worked in a variety of different therapeutic areas including inpatient and outpatient neuropsychiatric assessment, outpatient community mental health, crisis intervention, in home services such as Wraparound BHRS and Family Based, the school setting, and private practice. Abby is an eclectic therapist that utilizes a person centered, and strength-based form of therapy derived from the Family Systems Model, as well as concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness techniques. Her clinical experience has allowed her to focus on diverse needs including trauma, substance abuse/dual diagnosis, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment issues, gender issues, sexual identity issues, LGBTQIA, grief and loss, sexual abuse and victimization, patterns of codependency, self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideation, family conflict, Geek and Gaming Culture, life transitions, parenting, and pregnancy/prenatal/postpartum/infertility. Abby has taken trainings to support the transgender community with transitioning. Abby has specific training in QPR (Question Persuade Refer) including having completed the train-the-trainer component as a QPR Gatekeeper, CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management), and DCORT (Disaster Crisis Outreach and Refer Team). During her time spent as the Team Lead (assistant manager) of a Pennsylvania county crisis intervention program, she was also on the county’s DCORT team. All of these certifications are designed to help mental health professionals respond within the community to reduce the rate of suicide and trauma symptoms associated with impactful events. Abby is currently part of Westmoreland County’s Suicide Task Force, Ray of Hope, and the county L.O.S.S. Team. She is also a board member of Metamorphosis Begins. Abby utilizes evidence-based approaches to help clients to achieve their goals. She believes that individuals are the experts in their lives, but sometimes get “stuck” and need help “getting out”. Abby works with her clients to help them to access their strengths and develop approaches that are centered on their personal objectives. Through this approach, the client is able to build their “toolbox” by gaining “tools”, or skills, to help them move forward with the healthy life they desire.

If you’re a high-achieving student who looks “fine” on the outside but feels overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted on the inside, you’re not alone. The pressure to perform academically, have a thriving social life, and figure out your future (all at the same time!) can quietly take a toll on your mental health. As a licensed mental health counselor, I help driven college students build lifelong coping skills and find balance—without pushing themselves harder or burning out. Together we can work to identify what you would like to be different in your life, and make a clear plan to help you get there. By the way - I'm also a certified career counselor, so if landing internships or planning life beyond college is stressing you out, I can help you there too. If you’re looking for therapy that’s down-to-earth, compassionate, and focused on helping you actually enjoy your college experience instead of just pushing through, let's connect! I offer a free 30 minute consultation call to see if we're a good fit before we start working together.
Do you ever feel like no matter how much you achieve, your anxiety, stress, or burnout never lets up? Perfectionism, overthinking, or past trauma may leave you tense, stuck, or constantly on edge. Your body might feel wired, your mind keeps racing, and you can’t fully relax even when life seems “fine.” You want relief, better focus, and a calmer, steadier nervous system. You want to thrive without being trapped by overwhelm, worry, or patterns that keep you from feeling truly present—and maybe even laugh a little along the way. I specialize in anxiety, chronic stress, and nervous system dysregulation. Using trauma-informed and somatic approaches, I help you regulate your nervous system, address patterns from past experiences, and, when appropriate, use Brainspotting for deeper trauma processing. You don’t have to manage anxiety or stress alone. Therapy is a space to feel supported, slow down, and create meaningful change. We may even use humor to lighten the load and help your nervous system settle. If this approach resonates, I invite you to reach out and explore whether we are a good fit.

I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate relationship challenges and I provide therapy in PA, NJ, VA, and FL. Hi, I’m Neal Holmes. I am a believer in holistic and collaborative therapy. Bearing witness to your lived experience is an honor, because we are all striving to live and build relationships the best way we know how as people. Do you feel like food, exercise, or how you look are taking up way too much space in your mind? Or like no matter what you do, it’s never “enough”? I specialize in supporting teens and young adults who are navigating eating disorders, body image struggles, and the pressure to be perfect. If you are unsure how to navigate this difficult journey or find it hard to trust your own relationship with food, now might be the time to reach out for help. We’ll focus on helping you build freedom around food and movement, while also exploring the deeper emotions and experiences that may be driving your eating disorder. I use EMDR therapy to help process painful memories and the critical beliefs that often fuel disordered eating. EMDR can be especially powerful in shifting old patterns and helping you feel more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself. I also incorporate Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size (HAES), and All Foods Fit approaches. Whether you’re feeling stuck in recovery, overwhelmed by anxiety and perfectionism, or just ready to find a healthier relationship with yourself, I’ll meet you exactly where you are. You don’t have to go through this alone. Together, we can build a path toward healing, self-acceptance, and freedom.

I see one of the most important roles as a therapist to be putting in the work to earn someone’s trust and walking beside them as an accomplice on their path towards growth. I don’t believe that people are “broken” or “need to be fixed”, but rather that somewhere within every person lies the capacity to generate change. I believe this change begins by finding someone trustworthy to support them through this process. And—that being kinder and gentler towards ourselves goes a long way to building the foundation for this change to occur. My experiences span across 15 years, with the scope of my direct work supporting clients in their exploration of gender expression/transition, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss and more- all within Allegheny County. I am also happy to provide evaluations and letters for Gender Affirming surgeries, Green Card Status, and Emotional Support Animals. The world is an often hard place to be, and my goal is to create a space for softness to occur. To not only listen but to hear and understand. To respect through accountability. To address struggles through processing and also through action leading to systemic change.
