I empower individuals to discover their resiliency, harness the energy of their anxiety in productive ways, and better manage negative unhelpful worry thinking. Anxiety results in the space between overestimating the probability of danger AND underestimating your ability to cope with it. My philosophy for healing is that everyone has strength and resiliency to cope with much more than they could imagine, and through therapy you discover those strengths and how to implement them. I have worked with hundreds of clients in 15+ years as a licensed therapist. Having been an active duty military spouse for 20 years, I have been licensed in 6 states and have vast experience providing therapy to diverse populations in numerous settings with various needs. This led me to a path of focusing more on primary anxiety conditions (such as general anxiety, panic, phobias) to secondary anxiety (from ADHD, autism, sensory integration) to justifiable external stressors (for example, societal, environmental, financial). I use research-proven Virtual Reality Immersion Therapy (VRIT), biofeedback, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, Solution-Focused Therapy techniques, and other evidence based models to help clients face fears and anxieties in customized imaginal and constructed virtual environments while teaching the coping skills of mindfulness, thought restructuring, and regulating body sensations. I offer weekend and evening hours, as well as the option for secure messaging and video contact between sessions for established clients. Finding calm and clarity when your mind won’t slow down is possible. I can guide the way. We have more influence over our thoughts than we realize. In our work, you’ll learn to approach your thinking more intentionally. As your thoughts change, you’ll start to notice changes in how you feel, the choices you make, and how you move through your life. I help clients slow things down, make sense of what’s been difficult, and address the patterns that keep them feeling stuck. This often includes working through anxiety, depression, and the impact of trauma and past experiences. I also support women navigating life transitions, helping them feel more grounded and steady through change. My approach is thoughtful and practical, combining insight with tools you can use in your day-to-day life.

At this moment, you face one of the most important choices of your life: Is this the moment you closed your browser and settled for what you have? Or is this the moment you reached out for therapy and reclaimed your life? My approach to therapy focuses on developing a positive vision for your life. You can’t just wish for the suffering to end. You need to be bolder. What becomes possible when the suffering ends - what will it mean for you to live a good life? Many struggle with this question. They think they know what they want, but in reality they want what someone else wanted for them. That is why my approach focuses on understanding your true self - your style of perceiving your environment, interacting with the world, and making decisions. As we discover your true self, we will also work on recognizing the existential choices you face as part of the change process and identifying how you can make those choices in alignment with your core values. You have one precious, beautiful, wild life. With every passing moment, that life is getting shorter. You’ve lost too much time to suffering already. If you are ready to change, reach out to me. I am ready to walk with you every step of the way.
I work with individuals 18 years old and above who are struggling with depression or anxiety. I can support you to change behaviors to feel better, change patterns of thinking to improve your feelings, develop closer and more satisfying relationships, and much more. I use approaches that have been shown to be effective such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. As a professor at the University of Pittsburgh, I conducted research specific to the mental health of teenagers. I also have extensive experience working with LGBT individuals. Our first meeting would be a chance for me to really understand why you want therapy, for us to develop goals together (Note: My clients often begin developing goals by thinking about "If we are successful working together in therapy, how would you and your life be different?"), and for you to determine if therapy with me is a "good fit."
Many of us have been emotionally wounded by family members, friends, loved ones, co-workers, and/or strangers. Psychological suffering can take on many forms, showing up in our thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships. Sometimes it can be experienced as sadness, depression, worry, anxiety, etc. This form of suffering, while painful, often points to the parts of ourselves that invite healing. And while the challenges of living with such experiences can be immense, they also present opportunities for growth. The truth is that you can find peace of mind, solace in your heart, and live joyfully, regardless of your past. I offer a caring, non-judgmental space where you can re-discover your ability to heal. Like the alchemist who was said to transmute base materials into gold, as a depth psychologist, I can help you transform your tragedies into triumphs. And like the phoenix who rises from the ashes, I can help you rise from despair, so that you can become your true self. Knowing that taking this step toward your own healing involves vulnerability and courage, I am filled with gratitude and look forward to speaking with you, learning how I can be of support. I welcome your questions and am both honored and humbled to be part of your journey. May you be filled with the peace that surpasses all understanding.

I work with individuals seeking a compassionate space for introspection and healing. You may feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges or past experiences, but you also bring unique strengths and perspectives. My approach honors your individuality, helping you uncover insights and foster meaningful growth along your journey. I offer support for life’s challenges with specialties in trauma, obsessive compulsive expressions (or OCD), and navigating complex emotions. Through EMDR, ERP, and Internal Family Systems, we’ll work collaboratively to foster growth, develop skills, and help you reconnect with your authentic self in a compassionate, empowering space. You deserve a space where your experiences are honored, and your voice is heard. Healing can feel daunting, but you don’t have to face it alone. Together, we can explore your story, build on your strengths, and create the changes you’re ready for. Let’s take that first step together.
At some point, you may find yourself in need of a little extra support. Maybe someone non-judgmental to listen to you and to hear what you have to say. Perhaps you need a safe space to process something with a therapist who can help you find your own answers. If you are feeling out of control or if you are struggling with life’s challenges, seeking help is an excellent way to start the process of healing. Together, however, we can work collaboratively to identify and reach your goals to create essential changes in your life. I have over twenty years’ experience working with individuals and families in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, addiction, illness, parenting, and much more. I am a licensed clinical social worker and have a certificate in working with military veterans and their families. I do not believe in “therapy in a can,” so your treatment is specific to you and your needs. Our approach to your journey is as diverse and individual as you. My role is to support, challenge, and guide you on your journey to reach your goals.
Therapy isn’t just about getting through hard times, it’s an opportunity for you to reconnect with your own inner strength and move toward a life that feels more meaningful, grounded, and embodied. You might feel overwhelmed, stuck in a major life change, overthinking, or just tired of pretending you're okay. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. Much of my work with clients involve exploring your thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences to deepen self awareness and support lasting change.
