If you are searching for insight and depth, you’re in the right place. My name is Adrian (he/him), and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in working with transgender, gender non-conforming, and queer adults and teens. My practice is centered on supporting individuals facing questions of gender exploration, sexuality, identity formation, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and interpersonal conflict. I believe that the purpose of therapy is to realize yourself as a whole person. By integrating who we are with how we want to be, we can find peace and fulfillment through the continuous experiencing of personal truth. Together, we will work towards empowering you to live a more complete, balanced, and meaningful life. I will meet you where you are and walk alongside you. Navigating this path asks of us honesty, openness, bravery, and self-compassion. This is what we will practice together in the process of learning to hold safety and trust within ourselves. Therapy is a unique process for each person. No one size fits all. Our work together will be tailored to your needs in a language and style that works best for you. I use a primarily Psychodynamic approach which incorporates tools and techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy. I have completed additional accredited training focused on providing gender-affirming care to trans clients, supporting families of trans youth, identity development in sexuality, supporting kink identity, and psychedelic exploration. I will walk alongside you in your journey of discovery, integration, and healing as you navigate the social, emotional, medical, relational, academic, and occupational barriers and hardships that you may face. It would be my honor to be part of your journey and serve to empower you to live as your authentic self.

We all experience different struggles at one time or another throughout our life. The transition into or out of college is often filled with a lot of uncertainty and stress. This can be with coursework, friendships, roommates, exploring sexuality and independence. Therapy is a way to assist you in embracing your current situation and moving through, rather than getting stuck or spiraling backward. Life can be complex and challenging, it can require extra support to help move through the struggles we may be experiencing. In our first few sessions I will learn more about your current situation and discuss treatment options I feel you may benefit form and what has worked for you in the past. We will work together from there to develop a plan that you are comfortable with and work together to reach your goals. Taking the first step to reach out and ask for help is often the biggest hurdle. Feel free to reach out for a free 15 minute consultation to see if therapy with me is right for you!

I like to take a holistic approach when evaluating patient needs: our bodies and our minds are intrinsically connected; when one part is not working properly, it will affect the other parts. We must therefore look at the whole picture to try and see what is really going on. You know yourself the best: you are the expert! Whether you feel depressed, anxious, out of sorts; not sure what's really going on, but you do not feel like yourself anymore; perhaps you want to function better? You have not been sleeping well lately. You can't enjoy yourself anymore. Your friends are worried about you? Schedule a 15 min complimentary consultation to see if you could be a candidate for treatment. Are there times you feel stuck, overwhelmed, tired, or confused? Are there times you feel lonely, disconnected, and unheard even when you are surrounded by people? Do you have many expectations or pressure placed on you by friends, family, society, and even yourself? Do you question or blame yourself when things are not going “right”? Sometimes we struggle with these difficult thoughts and feelings and don’t know what to do. And that’s okay! You are not alone! You don’t have to have everything figured out! It is okay to feel many conflicting feelings at the same time, perhaps some more than others. It can seem scary, painful, and difficult to begin your journey of self-exploration. I will be here to support and guide you on your journey toward growth and healing. I am passionate about creating a safe and affirming place that offers authenticity, humor, and genuineness for you to share your stories. I believe in healing and growth through processing and making meanings of your experiences, recognizing your strengths, embracing your identities, nurturing your spirituality, and empowering you to make intentional choices. I will support you in learning skills to manage difficult thoughts and emotions, communicate and express yourselves, establish healthy boundaries, and navigate towards your goals. I’m an Asian-American therapist born in Vietnam and raised in San Diego, CA. As I grew up with different cultural influences, I recognize the importance of diversity, culture, relationships, and intergenerational experiences. My extroverted side loves traveling, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying different cuisines. My introverted side loves reading, listening to music, watching shows, and spending time to myself. I look forward to connecting with you to learn more about how I can support you along your journey.

Are you a person of color, LGBTQ, or woman-identified student in medicine or science? Have you been wearing that superhero cape for far too long? Ready to feel more peace in your life? You’ve come to the right place. I’m Dr. Lindsey Brooks and I work with underrepresented achievers. I’ll help you feel more grounded, balanced, and resilient. In my former position at UCSF Student Health, I worked with hundreds of students on these issues and I'd be thrilled to offer you support. I accept the Lyra Health Plan which now provides in-network benefits for all University of California students. You might be thinking to yourself: ”I need to keep it all together”, “If I just work harder and push myself more, then everything will be okay”, “I have to stay strong for my family” or “No one understands all this crap I deal with every day”. Everyone around you sees you as a success, yet something still feels like it’s missing. We will work together to help you feel more at ease, empowered, and maybe even allow yourself to be imperfect once in a while. When you begin to accept all the parts of yourself with compassion, things begin to change. You find your voice. I look forward to discovering your voice together. If you are seeking a therapist who is: social justice minded, an anti-racist ally, sex positive, feminist, bisexual+ affirming, and who has experience working with students in science and medicine, let’s talk. Sometimes it takes the gentle mirroring of another person to help see what is no longer working in our lives. Habits formed to survive difficult childhoods may be wrecking havoc. Communication styles may be sabotaging love. We may feel overwhelmed or face a big life transition. I work closely with my clients to increase skills. I love to teach about nervous system regulation and how you can stay calm and effective during conflict, difficult conversations, and life transitions. From therapy you’ll learn to operate from wholeness and authenticity, and gain acceptance for self/others. In addition to being a therapist, I formerly taught high school Seniors. I loved working with Seniors and helping them mark the transition from high school to college as their own unique rite of passage. I know this transition and college can be quite stressful and overwhelming. Together we can explore and discover more of who you are during this important developmental phase of life. I am passionate about helping people feel a greater sense of connection and meaning in their lives, and can utilize a variety of interventions and practices. My style is warm, direct, humorous, playful, curious, and empathetic. I offer a free 20 min consultation to ensure we are a good fit and to answer any questions. Feel free to reach out to schedule that. Some of my areas of expertise are trauma, OCD, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Los Angeles, CA

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner practicing in San Diego and through telehealth in the state of California. My approach to mental health involves the whole person, and we work together to focus on all aspects of life and health–emotional, social, and physical. In addition to training in psychiatric care, my background in social work, perinatal health, and sexuality education enriches my perspective and the care I provide. We will address lifestyle factors (sleep, exercise, diet, etc.) that, in addition to medication and therapy, impact a person’s overall well-being and mental health. I develop collaborative treatment plans with you and treat a broad range of conditions, with a particular interest in anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, ADHD, PTSD, and affirmative mental healthcare for gender-expansive and trans folks.

I have a passion for working with people who want to live more fulfilling lives with a more genuine connection to themselves and others. My clients feel more empowered in their actions and relationships instead of letting their unhelpful thoughts and behaviors take over, while growing a more accepting and compassionate perspective towards themselves. It’s always a good session when my clients feel challenged and motivated to work towards their goals between sessions. I believe that much of the therapy work is completed between sessions just as much as it is in the hour minutes we will spend together each week. As a therapist, I’m not afraid of bearing witness to your pain and fear while finding ways to recognize joy and hope. I truly believe in each of my clients’ ability to grow and change. As an Exposure-based therapist, I’ll encourage you to take steps to approach your fears and reclaim your life. As a woman of color, I am sensitive to the ways that identity and mental health intersect and impact each other. I take an action-oriented and direct approach. Therapy is an investment in YOU, and I value all that my clients put into this work. I aim to “work myself out of a job” with each client, because I know that the goal isn’t to stay in treatment forever– it’s to live happier and healthier lives.

Hi and welcome! I’m Scott and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and a Board-Certified Music Therapist in Pasadena. I am passionate and experienced in working with young adults and college students. Transitioning into adulthood can be an incredibly challenging and confusing time. You are exploring who you are, where you fit and what you value. Juggling the demands of college, jobs and careers, relationships and your own emerging independence can be overwhelming. This can also be a time where underlying mental health challenges, dysfunctional family patterns and past traumas can surface, leaving you chronically stressed, anxious, depressed and without guidance. I understand what this time of life can feel like and draw from many years of specializing with young adults in all levels of mental health care as well as my own personal experiences. I believe in the unique strengths, stories and resiliency of each individual and will partner with you to help you achieve your goals, find true healing and live an authentic life.

Life happens. Everything is running smoothly in our lives and then something occurs that throws us off balance: a relationship breakup, the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, divorce, or a trauma. Instead of a single event, it can also be the buildup of stress or the accumulation of various life experiences. Sometimes we just want to learn more about ourselves. It can even be a wound from our past from which we have difficulty healing. All of us experience obstacles in our lives that can become overwhelming. With whatever difficulties you may be facing, we can work together to achieve your therapeutic goals, whether they be to lessen the experience of unpleasant feelings or to better understand what you are going through. It is my goal that you feel more empowered so that you can live a more balanced and fulfilling life.

I help creative people to: Recognize that being creative is HARD!! Strive for excellence, not “perfection“ Become more patient with themselves Stop listening to internal, negative voices! I work best with college students who are starting to notice how perfectionism, people-pleasing, or pressure to achieve affects their mental health. Many grew up feeling like they had to be “the strong one” or keep the peace at home, and now those same patterns show up in school, relationships, or self-worth. They’re ready to understand themselves better, heal from the past, and feel more grounded in who they are.
