Therapists for college students near New York, NY
Many of the students I work with seem like they have everything together on the outside, but internally feel anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are. You may be high-achieving, creative, or thoughtful, yet constantly overthinking, second-guessing yourself, struggling with perfectionism, or trying to meet expectations that never fully feel like enough. Over time, it can become exhausting to keep pushing through while quietly carrying stress, pressure, anxiety, or self-doubt on your own. In our work together, we slow things down and explore what’s driving that pressure beneath the surface. Therapy becomes a space to reconnect with your own voice, values, identity, and sense of direction so life begins to feel more grounded, authentic, and emotionally sustainable — not something you constantly have to perform your way through.
Many of my clients are college students and young professionals who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD symptoms, procrastination, stress, loneliness, relationship issues, or simply feeling overwhelmed by this season of life. Whether you're trying therapy for the first time or you've been before and felt like you hit a plateau, we'll work together to find an approach that feels like the best fit for you and your goals. My approach is rooted in authenticity, warmth, compassion, and curiosity. I want therapy to feel like a soft landing place—a space where you can bring whatever is weighing on you into the light without judgment. Together, we'll explore what you're experiencing, make sense of it, and find ways to help you move through daily life with more ease, confidence, and self-understanding.

This plan may include evidence-based practices and psychoeducation to help you gain a better understanding of your mental health and develop effective strategies to improve mental wellness. My career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner began as a nurse, spending many years working in various psychiatric settings. After gaining a wealth of experience in these settings, and from working with diverse patient populations, I felt a deepened commitment to providing high-quality care to people in my community. This led me to becoming a PMHNP and my role at SOL Mental Health, where I bring clinical experience, insight, and empathy to each session. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, exploring new neighborhoods, spending time with loved ones, and relishing good food.
Having moved countries multiple times, I deeply understand the stressors and challenges associated with settling into a new place, leaving behind friends, family, and pets. I can help you navigate these challenges and build meaningful connections and a fulfilling life. My primary focus is on adults who feel unfulfilled or trapped in a gilded cage and those who feel like they don't belong. When working with couples and individuals, my specialties include redistributing the mental load, fostering open communication, resolving conflicts, and reigniting intimacy. I tailor each session to meet the unique needs of my clients, always respecting their individuality and autonomy. I believe that even the most self-destructive behaviors originate from a place of protection. Let’s work together to reframe your relationships with yourself and others, transforming self-loathing and shame into understanding and kindness.

Let’s be honest. Underneath that polished veneer, the cracks are starting to show. You’ve tried handling them yourself, because that’s who you are – independent, resourceful, and always able to take care of yourself. But the spackle is breaking. Maybe those cracks are the result of you running full speed against a wall, again and again. If you’re ready to find another way around the wall, I'm your person. Let’s be honest. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with advanced doctoral training, I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, mood disorders, and attention-related concerns, including ADHD, depression, and the kind of persistent overthinking that makes daily life feel heavier than it should. If you've been struggling to find the right treatment approach, feeling stuck in patterns you can't seem to break, or overwhelmed by the complexity of what you're experiencing, you're in the right place. My goal is to help you make sense of your symptoms and create changes that actually last. You can expect clarity, honesty, and care that is genuinely tailored to you. Direct, individualized, and rooted in clinical evidence is how I approach every session. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, we'll work together to help you understand your patterns, reduce overwhelm, and build clear, sustainable change. The environment we create will be honest and grounded, a space where you feel supported without being placated. Every person who walks through the door brings a unique situation, and my approach reflects that. Whether the focus is on mood instability, emotional dysregulation, or attention-related challenges, the work is always shaped around what you need most. Seeing firsthand how mental health challenges can shape daily life, relationships, and the way people see themselves drew me to this work. That early exposure wasn't just formative; it became the foundation of my commitment to care that is both clinically effective and genuinely human. I approach each session with that grounded, compassionate perspective, because good treatment requires both. Outside of work, I'm drawn to travel, good food, and the intentional practice of rest. In a busy world, carving out space to reset isn't a luxury; it's something I genuinely believe in, both for myself and for the people I work with.
As a therapist, I provide evidence-based psychotherapy (CBT and ACT) to women and young adults experiencing a range of symptoms and life stressors. My specialties include depression, anxiety, stress and coping skills, dating and relationships, self-esteem, meditation/mindfulness, and ADHD. My goal is to help people understand why they feel and act the way they do, while helping them navigate this difficult world with compassion, kindness, and grace. It was my own journey of mindfulness and self-discovery that led me to pursue a career as a psychotherapist. Prior to receiving my Master of Social Work from NYU, I was working in international fashion sales. When not doing the work I love, you can find me at a meditation retreat, a yoga class, or cooking up (mostly) vegan treats!
My mission is to help each client I see to achieve lasting change through greater self-awareness, and enhanced knowledge of and ability to use skills to manage emotions, tolerate distress, communicate more effectively, and manage life’s challenges and stressors in more helpful ways. With five years of social work experience, including three years providing psychotherapy, I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who works with children, adolescents, young adults, women, and families. I’m dedicated to helping patients navigate the lasting effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and other experiences that leave people feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck. At the center of my practice is the belief that every individual is the expert on their own life, one that continues to help me be a compassionate partner in your journey toward healing, growth, and self-acceptance. I look forward to creating a space together where you feel safe to explore challenges, celebrate growth, and discover the strengths that already exist within you. My approach is trauma-informed and attachment-based, incorporating mindfulness practices to support healing and personal growth. It's also warm, person-centered, and collaborative, grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process. Building a genuine, personalized connection with each person I work with is something I'm passionate about, because feeling safe, supported, and empowered makes all the difference. In practice, that means drawing on a range of approaches tailored to your unique goals and strengths. These include person-centered therapy, trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, and elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Together, these tools help you build insight, strengthen self-compassion, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change. Sessions are flexible by design; our work takes the shape you need it to. From a young age, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to supporting and connecting with others. Throughout grade school, teachers often described me as empathetic and compassionate – qualities that, in time, pointed me clearly toward a career in mental health. In college, I discovered a passion for psychology and the opportunity to better understand the complexities of human behavior. That curiosity led me to pursue my Master of Social Work, deepening my understanding of the ways mental health, life experiences, relationships, and larger systems shape our well-being. These experiences strengthened my commitment to and passion for personalized care, and confirmed what I'd believed for a long time: that healing happens best in a space that feels warm, collaborative, and genuinely yours. Now, I bring this same curiosity, compassion, and respect for your unique story to every session. When I'm not in session, you'll often find me listening to a mystery or psychological thriller audiobook, crocheting, or spending an afternoon in a nearby park with my favorite salty snack — chips and dip or cheese and crackers, to be specific. At home, I'm endlessly entertained by my two cats: Penny, a tortie, and Ozzy, an orange tabby. Discovering new movies and TV shows is another favorite pastime, and I'm always happy to talk about my love of food!
With over 20 years of experience in clinical care, education, and research, I provide thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatry support tailored to high performing adults seeking clarity, stability, and wellness. My goal is to provide you both empathic and evidence-based support that leads to sustaining improvement.
