MY VIEW ON THERAPY As a fellow New Yorker who balances personal and professional commitments, managing life’s multiple roles is a necessity. Therapy can serve as the missing link to one’s happiness and future success. In our work together, discovering how to live exactly the life that you want is paramount. I practice Holistic Psychology and feel passionate about making science, wellness, and psychology accessible tools everyone can utilize in their lives to cultivate the best version of themselves. As a trained psychologist, I provide integrative strengths-based psychotherapy. My approach is grounded in scientifically backed, evidence-based psychology methods. Through our work together, you’ll unlock your confidence, understand yourself more fully, and add coping skills to your toolbox to use for the rest of your life. You’ll look within to navigate your life and make decisions moving forward. MY STYLE I’ve worked with creatives, professionals, CEOs, college students, and entrepreneurs. I work best with people who take an active role in discovering fulfillment. I’m caring, curious, warm, and interactive. I’m highly motivated to help you transform your life and get your needs met. I believe that everyone is capable of thriving. With an inherent ability to see the good in everyone, I have always loved connecting with people and helping them discover their internal goodness, vitality, and strengths. We’ll balance the seriousness with laughter, and you’ll start to notice changes in your mood from our first session. When not in the office, I am facilitating meditation and mindfulness workshops in schools, clinics, and the community. Weather permitting, I can be found at various parks throughout Manhattan enjoying the natural beauty, a good book, or others’ dogs. MY PROFESSIONAL TRAINING I have worked in urban and suburban public and private schools, community mental health clinics, and outpatient clinics providing therapeutic services to individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. After years in the field, I’ve honed my expertise and continue regular training in these areas: anxiety and stress reduction, relational concerns (family, romantic, peer, work relationships), college transitions, career/executive coaching, low self-esteem, and mood disorders. Grounded in my background, training, and passions, my work draws upon mindfulness, positive psychology, neuroscience, nutrition, integrative medicine, contemplative practices, and other forms of holistic health. My work allows others to navigate challenges, heal from life’s stressors, and most importantly, thrive in their lives. I work with people of all ages, from early childhood through adults, as well as families, groups, teams, and communities. I am thoughtful and personalize my treatment based on the varying needs of each client. My approach is grounded in scientifically backed methods with specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT). I see clients of all ages ranging from young childhood through adulthood, including families and couples.

Psychiatrist
New York, NY

I am a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, currently practicing and licensed in New York and California. I have a virtual private practice. I am also an attending child and adolescent psychiatrist/Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, Medical Director of the Mental Health Team at the Nicholas Scoppetta Children's Center, and the Medical Director of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Association for Children's Services. I completed my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. I was born and raised in New York City, where I also completed my medical education at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and my adult psychiatry residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. I enjoy working with each individual to find out what the needs are. No family, child, adolescent, or adult are the same, and everyone exists within a system. It is important to see a person as a whole, including the family they come from, school, job, community, and much more, in order to treat properly. My approach, when treating a child or adolescent, is to consider the community they are in, come from an attachment-based lens, and meet the youth where they are. Involvement of the parents will be important, especially depending on the age of the youth. My approach, when treating an adult, is to meet that adult where they are, understand their unique situation and treat accordingly. Personally, and professionally, I am interested in attachment theory and mind-body connection. I have received training in mindfulness-based stress reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family therapy, parent management training, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. My main areas of focus: anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, trauma, behavioral issues, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD), self-esteem, family, parenting, interpersonal dynamics, and school issues. However, each person is unique, so I am happy to speak to anyone and see if we are a good fit.

If you were looking for a sign to try therapy, consider this that sign. Life feels hard, and everyone and everything feels overwhelming. You just want to feel better but don't even know where to begin. You don't have to figure it all out on your own. So let's talk. Even better, let's collaborate. I have a relaxed style based on science but led by empathy and humor. I commonly help clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions, or even just a case of the "blahs." Our work together will be as unique as you are to pinpoint and address your personal goals. I commonly I pull from evidence-based treatments including cognitive and psychodynamic therapies geared to target unhelpful thoughts, build up your coping skills or work through past and current patterns. During our sessions, you can expect to feel safe, seen, and fully embraced- just as you are. I look forward to connecting with you to learn how we can enhance your well-being, alleviate the stress and pain you may be experiencing and find your joy again.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or drained? Do you feel like no one understands what you have gone through/are going through? Or do you find that you keep your feelings and personal experiences to yourself so you’re not a burden to others? You are not alone. It is not uncommon to feel disconnected and lonely, especially in this day and age. My name is Patricia Sibiga and I am a graduate student at CUNY Hunter studying Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to work together to talk through feelings of dissatisfaction and having a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and heard. Being vulnerable about your feelings and experiences can feel really scary and hard to do, especially if you have experienced being shut down when trying to in the past. Holding onto difficult feelings on your own can start to feel like a weight on your shoulders that continues to get heavier without an end in sight. Starting therapy can help to release that weight and strengthen your resilience to life’s inevitable encounters. My ambition as a therapist-in-training is to create a space where you are able to discuss these feelings and experiences without feeling shut down and unheard. You deserve to have a space in your life to discuss these topics in a non-judgmental, uplifting environment! My practice is rooted in psychodynamic, CBT, and mindfulness based approaches with a sprinkle of somatic therapy. With these theoretical approaches, we can work together to learn how current and past experiences are impacting your day-to-day, to practice grounding and mindfulness, and discover healthy cognitive behaviors and coping skills that may help with psychological distress. Patricia Sibiga is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapist-in-training accruing clinical hours.

In counseling, you can drop the mask and be yourself. I work with college students facing anxiety, self-esteem struggles, and identity questions—whether around culture, family, or relationships. My approach is warm and supportive, using CBT to ease anxious thoughts, break unhelpful patterns, and build real coping tools. Together, we’ll explore your story and create changes that feel true to you. Reach out today to schedule a consultation!
